Enchanted
Rock State Natural Area:
Located on Ranch Road 965N 16 scenic miles from Fredericksburg, Enchanted
Rock is a must see for any visitor to the area. This 1,643-acre park is the second
largest granite outcrop in the US and is the hard core around which the land mass
of Texas formed. Photographers, birders, hikers, rock climbers and picnickers
will not be disappointed. Arrive early or call ahead. This is a very
popular landmark and when the parking lot fills up the park closes until later

State and National Historical Parks:
Hwy. 290 East, 16 miles. The LBJ park complex encompasses
700 acres and has a visitor center, historic areas, tours, exhibits,
and hiking
trails. LBJ Ranch

Summer White House, Lyndon Baines Johnson birthplace, cemetery, and ranch. The

Located on Texas Hwy. 16 South, 3 miles from Fredericksburg, this 340 acre park
offers pavilions, playgrounds, tennis courts, a pool, and fishing in a wooded picnic

Luckenbach,
Texas:
Located at RR 1376, 8 miles Southeast of Fredericksburg. This
tour you do all on your own as you explore the old general store,
dance hall, post office and
bar. Established in 1849 as a trading post, Luckenbach is legendary as a gathering

Old
Tunnel Wildlife Management Area (Bat Tunnel):
Located on the Old San Antonio Hwy 12 miles from Fredericksburg. The
area is open nightly June through October. Watch Mexican free-tail
bats fill the sky

Pioneer
Garden:
Located at Marktplatz Square behind Vereins Kirche. Dedicated to the founders
of Fredericksburg and also to other notable people in Gillespie County history. Several
statues are found among the beautiful winding paths.

Museum Complex:
Located at 309 W. Main Street, the museum contains superb examples
of early German pioneer artifacts. Open to the public seven days
a week. Special tours of historic
homes and sites owned by the Gillespie County Historical Society are available

Kirche Museum:
Located in the center of Marktplatz, Main Street. This unique
structure is one of Fredericksburg's best known landmarks and is in
the heart of town. Vereinnss
Kirche (German for "Society Church") is commonly called the Coffee
Mill Church due to its unique structure. Information of the history of the "Society's
Church" is entertaining and educational.
